The Rabonian Tragedies by Ronald A. Bonnick

The Rabonian Tragedies begin with a young man who appears headed for greatness. After starting well as an engineer, he enters politics where he suffers an early tragedy by being sent to jail on corruption charges. After his release, he makes a stunning comeback in the political arena when he wins a parliamentary seat and goes on to become a minister-in-charge of public works.

But in every project he gives, he collects bribes. Unable to put all the dirty money into a bank, the corrupt minister confides to his friend, Thomas Barrett, who uses the money to buy trucks and cattle-rich farm properties. Some of the money is given to his two daughters overseas, only to be lost. A series of tragedies begin to unfold and only time will tell what will happen to the corrupt minister.

Has he met his doom at last?

Richly-layered and dramatic, The Rabonian Tragedies emphasizes how politicians and high ranking public figures conspire to rob a country of its resources and how retribution is swift to intercede. The epic story shows that truth and honesty are still the hallmarks of being decent citizens.
