My Many Years by Mary Lou Nance Ivey

In this wonderful anthology, Mary Lou Nance Ivey shares vignettes of her life experiences told through narrative poems. Though mostly short in length, it does not diminish the tale that each poem tells. Ivey’s gift of storytelling flows through her words and gives readers a fleeting glimpse of what her life was like then.

Interspersed with her poetry are brief reflections and interesting thoughts on several issues and experiences. Clearly a woman of faith, Ivey’s belief in God shines in some of her works dedicated to the Heavenly Father. From family life, to loss, love, faith, and death, the author speaks of precious moments that linger in her mind and heart.

My Many Years is a lovely collection that will inspire readers especially when going through difficult times. Ivey’s life was far from perfect but she cherished every moment that came, even with the struggles of raising a big family and making ends meet.
