When Judy Malone, a young visiting nurse, examines an old patient Mrs. Ten Hoven for the first time, she notices that something is wrong. The patient’s only daughter, Dorothy seems to be too busy to take care of her mother and expresses her disapproval over out-of-pocket medical expenses.
A few days later, Judy receives a call that Mrs. Ten Hoven died. After getting her patient’s blood results, Judy is convinced that there’s a foul play.
